Wrestle4Fun

Wrestle4fun was developed and funded by United World Wrestling. Wrestle4fun was designed to meet the needs the needs of children and youth all over the world.

Wrestle4fun is a 5-stage resource that is developmentally appropriate designed to support girls’ and boys’ physical literacy journey. The activities in Wrestle4fun are fun and non-elimination in order to maximize participation in, development in and / or appreciation for the sport of wrestling as well as other forms of physical activity.

Wrestle4fun’s lesson plans intentionally support learning in all three domains of learning:  psychomotor, cognitive and affective learning domains.

  • Psychomotor - Wrestle4fun activities and assessments teach motor skills, and movement combinations in multiple settings to support physical competence and confidence.
  • Cognitive - Wrestle4fun teaches participants to think strategically and make decisions as they learn what, when, and how to apply motor skills and movement combinations to diverse and appropriate settings.
  • Affective - Wrestle4fun teaches and reinforces the United World Wrestling Values: integrity, passion and unity. It is designed to deepen participants’ appreciation of physical activity and, specifically, their appreciation of wrestling. Wrestle4fun is designed to enhance participants’ value of themselves and increase their understanding of the positive impact they can have on their local and global communities.
