Sports Federation Management Program
SPORTS FEDERATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
The Sports Federation Management Programme (SFMP) looks at long term strategy development in sport organisations and the management of issues that surround this. This is pertinent for UWW in light of the World Wrestling Plan and its desire to remain, and ideally become a core, Olympic Sport.
Aim
The programme aims to provide practical business models that can be used by managers and administrators in their sport specific job functions on completion of the programme.
Outcomes
At the conclusion of the programme, delegates will have worked on key planning documents often essential for funding requirements in order to give them a competitive advantage when in discussion with funding bodies such as International Federations, Governments, etc with a focus on Strategic Planning and Governance.
The programme covers the following topic areas with practical, informative and participative sessions:
• Strategic planning for sports organisations
• Managing strategic change
• Leadership
• Financial management
• Governance
• Risk management
• Human resource management
• Sponsorship and partner relationships
The delivery team includes a selection of the Academy’s industry experts and leading business academics and offers fantastic networking opportunities within the field; both of which provide a unique and beneficial learning experience for delegates. The Academy and experts are also available following the programme on a mentoring basis to progress specific areas discussed throughout the programme.
