A bright spot for Mongolia was No. 7 SUNDEV Byambatseren (MGL) who used two takedowns and excellent mat control to best No.3 Irina OLOGONOVA (RUS), 4-0 at 55kg. Mongolia’s biggest wins came at 60kg and 63kg where No.1 SUKHEE Tserenchimed (MGL) and No.3 SORONZONBOLD Battsetseg (MGL) each found falls in back-to-back matches.

The best match of the round belonged to No.1 SUKHEE Tserenchimed (MGL) and No.6 Johanna MATTSSON (SWE) at 60kg. Defending world champion Sukhee was trailing much of the match but found a late takedown in the second to secure the 5-4 win.
