Egypt Dominates African Championships in Greco-Roman
- Egypt finished with 79 points followed by Morocco with 67 points. Algeria and South Africa tied for second with 51 points each.
- With seven champions and eight finalists 2015 was Egypt’s best-ever showing at the African Championships.
- South Africa’s four place-winners matched their 2011 total in Dakar, Senegal.
- Zied AYOT IKRAM (MAR) won his first African Championship since 2013 where he won while wrestling freestyle for Tunisia.

Egypt Scoops Women’s Title as Cameroon Senegal and Tunisia Split
- Egypt captured the team title with 55 team points. Cameroon, Senegal and Tunisia each finished with 45 points.
- Eight-time African champion and 2012 Olympian Isabelle SAMBOU (SEN) lost a 6-2 decision to Adekuoroye ODUNAYO (NGR) in the opening round, to suffer a rare on-continent defeat. She finished in second for the tournament.
- Former World No.1 Marwa AMRI (TUN) looked fantastic in Alexandria, winning the 58kg title over Adeniyi AMINAT (NGR).
- Commonwealth Games bronze medalist and defending African champions Oborududu BLESSING (NGR) dominated the 63kg weight category to win her fourth continental title.

Host Egypt Wins Four Gold, Senegal Snags a Pair
- Egypt took the team title with 63 points. Algeria finished in second with 60 points as Morocco took team bronze with 47 points
- Senegal scored two champions and finished with 43 points.
- Adama DIATTA (SEN) won his fifth African Championship at 57kg, defeating Abdelhak KHERBACH (ALG) by TF, 10-0 in the finals. Diatta recently placed second at the Paris Grand Prix and is ranked No. 20 in the world.
- Midana AUGUSTO (GBS), who famously gave Jordan BURROUGHS (USA) all he could handle at the 2014 World Championships, won his fifth African Championship at 74kg and supported his No.20 world ranking.
- Mohamed ALI ZAGHLOUL (EGY) df. Adem BOUDJEMLINE (ALG) by TF, 10-0 to move up to No.20 in the world rankings.
- Jean Bernard DIATTA (SEN) won his third African title at 65kg, defeating Daniel AMAS (NGR), 4-2 in the gold medal finals.
