Pair of Mongolian Freestyle Coaches Banned for Three Years

Following the actions of Mongolia freestlye wrestling coaches Mr. Tserenbaatar Tsogbayar and Mr. Byambarinchen Bayaraa during the 65kg bronze medal match at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic asked the federation's Sports Judge to review all elements of the case and provide a decision. The following was decided:

  • Three years’ suspension from all national and international competitions is imposed on Mr. Tserenbaatar Tsogbayar and Mr. Byambarinchen Bayaraa; the suspension starts on 21 August 2016 and ends on 20 August 2019 included;
  • Fine of 50.000 Swiss Francs is imposed against the Mongolian Wrestling Federation.

The provisional suspension previously imposed on the National Wrestling Federation of Mongolia has also been lifted and all Mongolian wrestlers may resume to all competitions included the UWW calendar.
