BIOGRAPHY
On his way to his second Olympics, Viktor LORINCZ (HUN) qualified for Tokyo with a silver-medal winning performance at the 2019 World Championships in Nursultan. He lost to Zhan BELENIUK (UKR) in the final. In Rio, Lorincz had a heartbreaking finish to an excellent campaign where he reached the semifinal but lost to eventual champion Davit CHAKVETADZE (RUS). In the bronze medal bout, Denis KUDLA (GER) defeated him 3-3 and he finished fifth. Apart from the silver in Nursultan, he has two bronze medals at the Worlds in 2013 and 2014. He was the European champion in 2017 apart from winning a silver in 2020 and a bronze in 2013. The Hungarian Army soldier, who was born in Cegled, Hungary, will be the top seed in Tokyo at 87kg.
