Tadeusz MICHALIK (POL) will be making his Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games. He placed fifth at the 2019 World Championships in Nursultan to claim the spot for Poland. In the qualification rounds, he lost to Musa EVLOEV (RUS) in the quarterfinals. But in repechage, he defeated Jahongir TURDIEV (UZB) to qualify. He lost to Mikheil KAJAIA (SRB) in the bronze medal bout. The fifth-place finish was his best at Worlds. He had achieved the same position at the 2014 Worlds. He has one Ranking Series medal – a bronze. He will be seeded fourth at the Tokyo Olympics.
