In only in his second Senior World Championships, Mate NEMES won a'19 bronze medal and qualified for the Tokyo Games. In Nursultan, he managed to reach the quarterfinals against Artem SURKOV (RUS) but lost 2-1. He faced Fredrik BJERRENHUUS (DEN) in the bronze medal bout and won. He is the brother of Viktor, a Greco-Roman world champion in 2017 in Paris.
