AMRI Marwa
BIOGRAPHY
In ‘16, Amri became Africa’s first-ever women’s wrestling Olympic medalist. Her lone loss came to four-time Olympic champion Kaori ICHO (JPN) but she picked up a pair of wins on the backside of the bracket and claimed Olympic bronze. A year later, she punched her ticket to the world finals, and along with Odunayo ADEKUOROYE (NGR), became the first African women's wrestlers to reach gold-medal matches. For her efforts, she was named United World Wrestling History Maker of ‘17. She’s also an 11-time African champion.
