Maafi won four matches at the ‘21 Africa and Oceania Olympic Qualifier, claimed his first career senior-level gold medal and punched his ticket to the Tokyo Olympic Games. Through his first six senior appearances, his highest finish came at the ‘20 African Championships where he finished in second place.
