A three-time cadet world medalist, the Greek defeated David HABAT (SLO) in the semifinal in Sofia to win the ticket to Tokyo, which will be his first Olympics. Born in the ancient city of Athens, Greece, Pilidis will be marking the country's presence at the Games in the freestyle event for the first time since London. Greece last won an Olympics medal in freestyle at the 2000 Sydney edition.
