Metwally reached his first Olympic Games after winning gold at the ‘21 Africa and Oceania Olympic Qualifier. The 25-year-old made his senior-level debut at the ‘16 African Championships. He finished with a bronze medal. Since then, he’s won African golds in ‘17 and ‘19 and a silver medal in ‘20.
