Anna SCHELL (GER) won her first senior World Championships medal in 2019 -- a bronze. On her way to the medal, she defeated an Olympic silver medalist and later an Olympic champion. At 68kg, the German handed a shock defeat to Maryia MAMASHUK of Belarus but was beaten in the semifinal against Tamyra MENSAH-STOCK of USA. She wrestled Sara DOSHO of Japan in the bronze medal bout but shocked the Rio champion 4-1. In the last Olympic cycle she had tried to qualify at 75kg but failed to do so. This will be her first Olympics and she will be seeded fourth in Tokyo at 68kg.
