CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY (March 9) -- United World Wrestling and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have renewed their partnership agreement for exclusive European media rights for the European and World Championships.
The deal extends the current contract through to 2020.
“We are excited to partner with the EBU to continue the expansion of our media outreach,” said United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic. “The company’s reach will give wrestling unique possibilities in the European marketplace.”
The EBU will also be the exclusive technical provider for United World Wrestling’s worldwide television distribution.
The partnership grants media rights in Europe for seven championships in total, including four European Continental Championships and three World Championships.
Each event will feature men's freestyle, women’s wrestling and Greco-Roman.
