CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland (September 15) -- United World Wrestling, in collaboration with the International Testing Agency, conducted an Anti-Doping Seminar on September 9, bringing together 547 participants from across the wrestling community.

UWW Athlete Commission Chairman Arsen JULFALAKYAN and USA Wrestling coach Terry STEINER served as panelists, while ITA Education Team member Riley MCGOWEN also participated in the seminar.

The interactive seminar engaged participants through questions, polls, videos and presentations, with a strong focus on strengthening anti-doping awareness and education.

Of the 547 participants, 481 were coaches, along with 21 athletes, 20 administrators, 17 educators, four medal personnel, three athlete support personnel and one parent.

Participants learned about key anti-doping roles and responsibilities, including ways to influence athletes' values and behaviours and foster positive anti-doping attitudes. The seminar also covered anti-doping rules, medication-checking procedures, Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) and informed decision-making regarding supplement use.

All participants were also given an overview of the testing process and learned how to report doping in sport. The seminar further addressed how to recognise and support athletes during moments of vulnerability.
