CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, SWITZERLAND - United World Wrestling, the international governing body for wrestling will be hosting its revamped United World Wrestling Educators Course October 26 to November 2 at the National Institute of Sport and Physical Education (INSEP) in Paris.

The Educator’s course will certify coaching instructors for the sport of wrestling and grant licenses to those who pass the course and examination process. The licences will be valid for 18 months at which point they will be subject to a renewal process.

The initial Educator’s course will be run in partnership with the International Rugby Board (IRB) Education and Training experts.

United World Wrestling Educators must:

Be capable of instructing in either French, English, Spanish or Russian
Possess presentation and interpersonal skills
Show experience presenting information to groups (e.g. teaching)
Welcome an interactive approach
Be passionate and interested in helping to develop coaches
Have appropriate wrestling knowledge, skills and experience
Deliver an agreed number of coaching courses per year

The course focuses on the following aspects:

United World Wrestling Training process & Educator styles of delivery
Role of the Educator and client population
Learning, competence and assessment
Designing and reviewing learning
Acquaint Educators with United World Wrestling courses
Risk Management

National Federations interested in submitting candidates for the United World Wrestling Educator Course should complete the application form before September 1. Qualified candidates endorsed by their National Federation should apply as soon as possible.
