United World Wrestling Hosts Sport Demonstration for IOC

CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY (November 20) – Nearly two dozen employees of the International Olympic Committee visited the United World Wrestling headquarters this week in Corsier-sur-Vevey to enjoy a presentation on the sport of wrestling.

Members of the UWW staff joined the visiting IOC employees for a wrestling demonstration led by Switzerland Greco-Roman coach Andrey MALTSEV, assistant coach Lena MALTSEVA and eight-time national champion  Nadine TOKAR lead the group through a wrestling session which included warm-ups, technique and sparring.

United World Wrestling president Nenad LALOVIC and general secretary Michel DUSSON also welcomed IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell and IOC Director of Legal Affairs Howard Stupp to the event.

Stupp wrestled for Team Canada at the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Games.
