11:10: Kyle SNYDER (USA) overcame a 4-0 deficit to beat Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO) 9-4 in the semifinals at 97kg. Snyder turned up his offense in the second period and wore out the Georgian wrestler on his way to a five-point victory.

11:06: Khetag GAZYUMOV (AZE) advanced to his first Olympic gold-medal final after finishing with bronze medals in the past two Olympics. Gazyumov handled Valerii ANDRIITSEV (UKR) 11-0 in the semifinals.

10:54: Olympic champion Toghrul ASGAROV (AZE) won a back-and-forth battle over world champion Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) 7-4 at 65kg. With the score 4-4, Asgarov scored a late takedown and held on for the victory. 

10:51: Soslan RAMONOV (RUS) advanced to the gold-medal match at 65kg with a dominant 18-7 technical fall victory over Ikhtiyor NAVRUZOV (UZB). Navruzov jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but the Russian overcame that deficit quickly, scoring and poured on the points. The first period saw 23 points scored.

10:40: Khetag GAZYUMOV (AZE), a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, pulled away from Magomed Idrisovitch IBRAGIMOV (UZB) in the second period, winning 10-1 at 97kg. Ibragimov scored first, but Gazyumov scored a late first-period takedown and gut wrench turn to grab a 4-1 lead. He would tack on more points in the final period. He now meets Valerii ANDRIITSEV (UKR), a 5-2 winner over Magomed MUSAEV (KGZ). 

10:25: Kyle SNYDER (USA), last year's world champion, shut out Albert SARITOV (ROU) 7-0 to advance to the semifinals. Snyder broke open a 3-0 match with a four-point move in the second period. He now meets world No.6 Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO), who won 6-1 over Mamed IBRAGIMOV (KAZ). 

10:13: Soslan RAMONOV (RUS), a 2014 world champion picked up a shutout victory over two-time world bronze medalist Mandakhnaran GANZORIG (MGL) 6-0 to move into the semifinals at 65kg. The Russian now meets Ikhtiyor NAVRUZOV (UZB), who won a back-and-forth match over Franklin GOMEZ (PUR) 8-5.

9:59: 2012 Olympic champion Toghrul ASGAROV (AZE) scored early and often in an 11-0 technical fall over Frank MOLINARO (USA). He now faces the returning world champion Chamizo in the semifinals. 

9:58: Frank CHAMIZO MARQUEZ (ITA), a returning world champion, dug deep to pull out a 4-3 victory over Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI (GEO). Chamizo trailed 3-0 late in the second period, but came back with four points in the final 30 seconds to steal the victory.

9:49: Khetag GAZYUMOV (AZE), a two-time Olympic bronze medalist and 2010 world champion, edged two-time world champion Reza YAZDANI (IRI) 2-1 at 97kg. 

9:44: Valerii ANDRIITSEV (UKR) scored eight unanswered points to knock off world No.1 Anzor BOLTUKAEV (RUS) 8-5, avenging an 8-5 loss from earlier this year. Boltukaev raced out to a 5-0 lead before the Ukranian turned it up and wore out Boltukaev. The physically exhausted Russian laid on the mat after the match. 

9:35: World No.6 Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO) proved to be too much for 2009 world champion Georgii KETOEV (ARM). The Georgian took the victory 8-1. 

9:26: World champion and top seed Kyle SNYDER (USA) pulled away in the second period to beat Javier CORTINA LACERRA (CUB) 10-3 at 97kg. 

9:25: World No.2 Soslan RAMONOV (RUS), a 2014 world champion, used a four-point move late in the first period to pace him to an 11-3 victory over Alejandro Enrique VALDES TOBIER (CUB) at 65kg. 

9:17: 2015 world silver medalist Ikhtiyor NAVRUZOV (UZB) hung on to defeat Adam BATIROV (BRN) 7-7 on criteria at 65kg.

9:16: Franklin GOMEZ (PUR) came back to beat Borislav NOVACHKOV (BUL) 7-4 at 65kg. Novachkov grabbed a 4-1 lead in the second period, but Gomez came back with a takedown and gut wrench turn, and then added another takedown to win by three.

9:05: 2012 Olympic champion Toghrul ASGAROV (AZE) came out strong in his opening match at 65kg, picking up a 12-2 technical fall over Andriy KVYATKOVSKYY (UKR).

9:03: Frank MOLINARO (USA) edged Magomedmurad GADZHIEV (POL) 2-2 on criteria at 65kg. Molinaro scored a takedown, while Gadzhiev scored both of his points off step outs. 

8:54: Two-time world champion Reza YAZDANI (IRI) rolled to a 10-0 technical fall in his first match against Ibrahim BOLUKBASI (TUR) at 97kg.

8:52: Returning world champion Frank CHAMIZO (ITA) was pushed in his first match against 2014 world champion Devid SAFARYAN (ARM) at 65kg, but prevailed 3-1. The Armenian led 1-0 after the opening period, but Chamizo came back in the second period with a takedown and step out. 

8:47: 2014 world champion and world No.2 Soslan RAMONOV (RUS) cruised to a 7-1 victory over Haislan GARCIA (CAN) at 65kg. Ramonov led 5-0 after the opening period on the strength of a shot clock point, takedown and gut wrench. He added a late takedown to win by six. 

8:38: Mandakhnaran GANZORIG (MGL), a two-time world bronze medalist, shut out 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Yogeshwar DUTT (IND) 3-0 at 65kg.  

8:36: World No.8 Borislav NOVACHKOV (BUL) opened with a 10-7 win over world No.6 Meisam NASIRI (IRI) at 65kg. Novachkov scored all of his points on takedowns.
