Bimeh-Razi Captures World Wrestling Clubs Cup in Tehran

The second annual World Wrestling Clubs Cup took place last week in Iran with $100,000 being handed out to the top three teams of the competiton. The winning team, Bimeh-Razi (IRI), took top billing with $50,000 while Titan Mercury Wrestling Club (USA) secured second place with $30,000 and Kefay Ati (IRI) in third with $20,000.

The competiton, which included 33 dual style matches, were held November 26th and 27th at the Azadi Sport Complex in Tehran. The 12,000 seat facility was the venue for the 2015 Greco-Roman World Cup and is the biggest sports complex in Tehran.

The 11 international teams from three continents include Brazil, Latin America, USA, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh,Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bulgaria and Hungry all particpiated in the competition. Some of the world's best wrestlers showed up for the event, including Olympic champion Jake VARNER (USA), world champion Vladimir KHINCHIGASHVILI (GEO) and world champion Magomedrasul GAZIMAGOMEDOV (RUS). 

Bimeh-Razi took the finals over TMWC, 7-1.
