About Sonam

Teenager Sonam MALIK (IND) had to beat Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi MALIK (IND) to earn a spot on the Indian team. At the Asian Olympic Qualifier, she proved her worth by winning the quota for India at the 62kg weight class with her first senior-level medal. Yet to compete at the junior level, the two-time cadet world champion has risen quickly nationally, making the weight class her own. A knee injury since the Asian Qualifier has kept her out of action and Tokyo will be a big stage for the youngster as she makes her Games debut.
