Otoguro became Japan's youngest-ever freestyle world champion (19 years 10 months) with victory at 2018 World Championships. In final, defeated Bajrang PUNIA (IND) in 16-9 thriller named UWW's freestyle match of the year...Finished 5th at 2019 World Championships to secure Olympic spot for Japan, then clinched for himself with victory at All-Japan Champion...Product of JOC Elite Academy and Yamanashi Gakuin University. Joined Japan Self-Defense Forces' Physical Training School team in March...Will appear at Tokyo 2020 with older brother Keisuke (74kg)...Father was former wrestler, set up 'wrestling room' in apartment when boys were young and was strict coach...Won world cadet gold in 2015...Asian champion in 2020 and 2021, beating Punia in final both years (latter by injury default).
