The Grand Dame of wrestling qualified for third Olympics---each 8 years apart---by placing 2nd to Aiperi MEDET KYZY (KGZ) in 5-women weight class at Asian Olympic qualifying tournament....Prepped for qualifier with silver medal at Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix, losing to Juan WANG (CHN) in final...Left the sport for three years after failing to qualify for Rio 2016. Returned in 2019 with victories at Mongolia Open and Baikal Open, but lost in qualification round at 2019 World Championships 5-2 to Qian ZHOU (CHN)....In 2016, won eighth medal but first gold at Asian Championships with win over Rino ABE (JPN) in final. It was first medal since winning a silver in 2008. Also Asian Games bronze medalist in 2006 and 2014...Three-time world medalist (silver in 2009, bronzes in 2013 and 2014)...8th at London 2012 Olympics and 10th at Athens 2004, when women's wrestling made its Olympic debut...10-time national champion...Got late start in wrestling, entering sport at age 19 after watching Enkhjargal TSOGT BAZAR (MGL) win silver medal at 2001 Asian Championships on TV.
