Winchester is the reigning World champion at 55 kg and will compete in Tokyo at 53 kg for the United States. For her gold in the ’19 World Championships finals, she defeated 2015 Junior World champion Nanami IRIE (JPN), 5-3. Winchester also represented the USA at the ’18 World Championships, finishing fifth in the world. This season, she has competed twice internationally, winning gold at the ’21 Pan American Championships and securing silver at the ’21 Henri Deglane Grand Prix. Winchester competed at 55 kg for Pan Ams and recorded four wins without surrendering a point to her opponents. She qualified the United States for Tokyo at 53 kg with a silver-medal performance at the Pan American Olympic Qualifier in March ’20. Additionally, Winchester is a ’14 University World bronze medalist. She trains at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado.
