Oksana LIVACH (UKR) took up wrestling after being inspired by her elder sister Maria, a former cadet European champion and bronze medalist at Junior Worlds. The younger Livach became a more accomplished wrestler as she won the Cadet Worlds and Euros. She is also a senior and U23 European champion for Ukraine. She then won the bronze medal at the Senior Worlds in 2018 in Budapest. A year later, she once again reached the bronze medal bout but lost to Valentina ISLAMOVA-BRIK of Kazakhstan, finishing fifth. But that was good enough to qualify her for the Tokyo Games which will be her debut Olympics. Her performances in the 2019 Worlds and later have earned her the third seed at her weight class in Tokyo.
