Oleksandr KHOTSIANIVSKYI (UKR) will represent Ukraine at the Olympic Games after a gap of nine years with his last appearance coming at the London Games. He finished 13th in 2012. Having won the bronze medal at the Nursultan World Championships in 2019, the Ukrainian qualified for the Games in Tokyo. He had lost to Geno Petriashvili in the semifinal before he defeated Deng Zhiwei of China in the bronze medal bout. The Ukrainian will be seeded fourth for the Tokyo Games.
