The next big thing in wrestling for Turkey, Kerem KAMAL (TUR) has won five European Championships gold medals at age-group level and a silver at senior level. At Worlds, he has three titles at junior level and two silver medals at cadet level. At U23, he won a bronze medal in 2019. Despite his accolades, he lost his first-round bout at the 2019 World Championships and had to qualify Turkey for the Tokyo Games by winning the European Qualifiers. He began the tournament by defeating Irakli DZIMISTARISHVILI (GEO), Victor CIOBANU (MDA) and Erik TORBA (HUN) in the semifinal which won him the spot. In the final, he defeated Etienne KINSINGER (GER) to win the gold. He won silver medals at the 2020 and 2021 Euros and a bronze in 2019 at the same championship. He will be seeded third for the Games in Tokyo.
