Kamil RYBICKI was not on the list of original qualifiers for the Olympic Games, but a failed doping test from Zelimkhan KHADJIEV of France moved him up to 5th place and gave him a quota for Tokyo. A former junior European silver medalist, Rybicki lost to Zaurbek SIDAKOV (RUS) in the round of 16 at the World Championships and later lost to Mao UKUI of Japan in repechage. That was his first senior World Championships in his short career.
