Evelina NIKOLOVA (BUL) won a bronze medal at the Las Vegas World Championships in 2015. The same year, she won a bronze medal at the European Games and later a bronze at the Championships. She later won a silver in 2019 and a bronze in 2021 at Euros making her a three-time medalist. After missing the qualification at the World Championships, she participated in the European Qualifiers and won the 57kg weight class to qualify for her first Games. On her way to the title, she defeated lyona KOLESNIK of Azerbaijan, Veronika CHUMIKOVA of Russia, Bediha GUN of Turkey in the semifinal and Alina HRUSHYNA of Ukraine gave a walkover in the final.
