A year before the European Qualifiers, the junior world medalist was wrestling at 97kg. But to qualify for the Tokyo Games, Dzianis KHRAMIANKOU (BLR) shifted to 125kg and participated in Budapest winning the gold and earning a ticket to Tokyo. He faced Shamil SHARIPOV (RUS) in the semifinal of the tournament. A move in the final few seconds of the bout earned him a 4-4 win against the favorite. In the final, he defeated Gennadij CUDINOVIC (GER). In 2020, he won a bronze medal at the 2020 Individual World Cup apart from a silver and bronze at the U23 Worlds in 2017 and 2019.
