BIOGRAPHY
Odunayo ADEKUOROYE (NGR) heads into the Tokyo Olympic Games as the second-seeded wrestler at 57kg. She’s fresh off winning the Poland Open -- her third consecutive Ranking Series gold medal. She demolished Rio Olympic champion Helen MAROULIS (RUS) and Valeria KOBLOVA (RUS) en route to winning the gold. She’ll be competing in her second Olympic Games. Her first appearance was at the Rio Olympic Games. She finished in 16th place. She’s also one of two Nigerian women to win a world medal, and in ‘17, she became the first African woman to reach the world finals. She ultimately fell in the gold medal match and settle for a silver medal. She also won bronze medals in ‘15 and ‘19. She’s also a six-time African medalist -- five of which are golds.
