UWW Scholarship for Female Wrestlers in view of Tokyo 2020

The programme was established to support female wrestlers with little access to training opportunities in their home country, in particular sparring partners. Following the partnership agreement between UWW and Kourtane Training Centre in Finland in January 2017, a total of 3 female wrestlers from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand benefited from the programme.

Furthermore, female wrestlers from Nigeria benefited from an extensive training camp prior to the African Continental Championships for their physical and technical preparation.

The duration of the scholarships are limited to six months and were provided to athletes who applied for an Olympic Solidarity Scholarships Tokyo 2020.
