In a dual meet that came down to the final match, Georgia edged the United States 4-4 on criteria in the bronze-medal match. Georgia finished with more classification points than the American team. At 57kg, world champion Vladimer KHINCHEGASHVILI trailed 6-0 early against Daniel DENNIS before turning the tide and eventually earning the fall to give Georgia a 1-0 lead and five classification points. Georgia picked up a key win at 61kg as Beka LOMTADZE claimed a hard-fought 8-5 victory over Tony RAMOS. The American wrestler trailed 4-1 late in the match before executing a four-point thrown to get back in it. But Lomtadze was able to hang on for the victory and give Georgia a 2-0 lead. Frank MOLINARO put USA on the scoreboard with a 4-4 decision on criteria over Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI (GEO) at 65kg. The Georgian led 3-2 late in the match before Molinaro was able to secure a takedown to take the lead and eventually close out the match. World bronze medalist James GREEN (USA) was very impressive in a 10-0 technical fall over World. No.6 Davit TLASHADZE (GEO). Green scored with leg attacks and leg laces to secure the technical fall. Alex DIERINGER gave up the first point at 74kg, but dominated the rest of the way, scoring 10 unanswered points to earn a 10-1 victory. Olympic bronze medalist Dato MARSAGISHVILI stopped the bleeding for Georgia as he beat J'den COX (USA) 7-4 at 86kg. Marsagishvil led 7-0 before Cox had a late rally but ultimately fell short. World champion Kyle SNYDER (USA) had to dig deep to beat World No.5 Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO) 3-3 on criteria. Snyder trailed late before securing a takedown in the final 10 seconds to earn the victory. In the final match of the dual meet, two-time World bronze Geno PETRIASHVILI (GEO) earned a 6-2 victory over Zack REY (USA).

Azerbaijan earned a fifth-place finish by topping Mongolia 5-3. Azerbaijan opened with wins from Makhmud MAGOMEDOV (57kg) and Akhmednabi GVARZATILOV (61kg). World No.15 Mandakhnaran GANZORIG gave Mongolia its first win at 65 kg. At 70 kg, Azerbaijan's Gadzhimurad OMAROV edged Altangerel DORJTSEGMED 6-5. World No.4 Unurbat PUREVJAV (MGL) blanked Ashraf ALIYEV 7-0 at 74kg. Mongolia picked up a big win at 86kg as Uitumen ORGODOL pinned Magomedgadzhi KHATIYEV. With the match tied 3-3, Aslanbek ALBOROV picked up a 6-1 win for Azerbaijan. Junior world champion Said GAMIDOV closed out the victory for Azerbaijan with 6-2 win at 125kg.

Bajrang BAJRANG (61kg), Rajnesh RAJNEESH (65kg), Kumar Omprakash VINOD (70kg) and Parveen RANA (74kg) were victorious. Turkey's Selim YASAR (TUR), ranked No.4 in the world, earned technical fall at 86 kg. At 97kg, Muren Fikret MUTLU won by injury default. The dual meet ended with a double forfeit at 125kg.

Muren Fikret MUTLU followed up Yasar's win with another victory for Turkey. Turkey forfeited at heavyweight, and Russia took the 6-2 victory.

The much-anticipated showdown between Iran and USA lived up to the hype. The teams split the eight matches, but it was Iran that finished two more classification points (17-15) to take the victory. Iran came out strong, winning the first two matches with No. 2 Hassan RAHIMI (57kg) and Masoud Mahmoud ESMAEILPOORJOUYBARI (61kg). USA got a big boost at 65kg as Frank MOLINARO came from behind to beat World No.7 Sayed Ahmad MOHAMMADI 4-3. World bronze medalist James GREEN followed up Molinaro's win with a 5-2 victory to make the dual meet score 2-2 after four matches. At 74kg, World No.9 Hassan YAZDANI CHARATI brought the Iranians fans to their feet after a dominating performance. He used a four-point move in the first period on his way to a 10-0 technical fall over Alex DIERINGER. The Americans responded with a win from J'den Cox at 86kg. Cox, who beat the World No.3 Aleksander GOSTIEV of Azerbaijan yesterday, topped Alireza Mohammad KARIMIMACHIANI 6-2. World champion Kyle SNYDER kept the momentum on USA's side with a dominating 8-1 victory at 97kg. With the match on the line, Iran's Parviz Khodavirdi HADI BASMANJ registered a 3-1 victory over Olympic champion Jake VARNER to make the dual meet score 4-4 and give Iran the victory on criteria.
