Magomed Ibragimov won his second title in as many weeks, earning gold on Saturday at the Ramzan Kadirov Cup in Grozny, Chechnya. The 28-year-old freestyler defeated countryman Dauren Kurugliev in the finals at 96kg. The Dagestani grappler also won last week’s Intercontinental Cup in Dagestan.

Overall, Russia won five of the seven championships (60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 84 kg, and 96 kg) and 19 of 28 medals. Asadullah Lachinov of Belarus at 55 kg and David Modzmanashvil of Georgia at 120 kg earned titles for foreign squads, while American Jimmy Kennedy (60 kg) and Tajikistan’s Zalimkhan Yusupov (66kg) earned trips to the finals.

Wrestlers from seven nations earned medals on the weekend.
