6:37: After winning world titles the last two years, Taha AKGUL (TUR) won an Olympic gold medal at 125kg with a 3-1 victory over Komeil GHASEMI (IRI). Akgul scored two of his points off the shot clock and the other by step out with 1:15 left. He joins Sadulev as a two-time world champion who now has an Olympic title. 

6:23: In a battle of two-time world medalists, Geno PETRIASHVILI (GEO) captured the bronze medal at 125kg with a 31-second 10-0 technical fall over Tervel DLAGNEV (USA). The Georgian secured a quick takedown off a Dlagnev attack and then used four gut wrenches to finish the match. He celebrated by doing multiple backflips.

6:16: Ibrahim SAIDOV (BLR) picked up a bronze medal by edging Levan BERIANIDZE (ARM) 2-2 at 125kg. Saidov scored a takedown off a high crotch -- the only two point move -- which gave him the criteria victory.

5:40: Abdulrashid SADULAEV (RUS), a two-time returning world champion, added an Olympic gold medal to his medal collection by shutting out Selim YASAR (TUR) 5-0. After getting a point off the shot clock, the Russia Tank scored a takedown and followed it up with a gut wrench, which is all the scoring he would need. After the match he leaped into the crowd of Russian fans in celebration.

5:24: J'den COX (USA) defeated Reineris SALAS PEREZ (CUB) to claim the bronze medal at 86kg. Cox scored the first point of the match off the shot clock. In the second period, Cox was put on the shot clock, and after a wild flurry, put Salas Perez on his hip. The initial call was no takedown, but but the call was reviewed and Cox was given two points for the takedown. The Cuban, after arguing the call, walked off the mat, giving Cox a victory by withdrawal.

5:07: Sharif SHARIFOV (AZE), a 2012 Olympic champion, claimed his second straight Olympic medal, beating Istvan VEREB (HUN) 5-1 at 86kg. Sharifov broke open a 1-1 match with 40 seconds left when he countered a shot and scored a takedown, and then followed it up with gut wrench.

4:55: Two-time world bronze medal winner Geno PETRIASHVILI (GEO) cruised to a 9-2 win over Korey JARVIS (CAN) in the final repechage at 125kg. He led 3-0 after the opening period and scored three more takedowns in the final period. Petriashvili now faces another two-time world bronze medalist, Tervel DLAGNEV (USA), for the Olympic bronze medal. 

4:42: Ibrahim SAIDOV (BLR) used a second-period takedown and gut wrench to defeat JARGALSAIKHAN Chuluunbat (MGL) and advance to the bronze-medal match at 125kg.  He now meets Levan BERIANIDZE (ARM), a 2010 world bronze medalist.

4:32: Three-time world medalist Reineris SALAS PEREZ (CUB) topped 2012 Olympic silver medalist Jaime ESPINAL (PUR) 6-4 in repechage at 86kg. Salas Perez led 5-0 before Espinal used a four-point throw to get back in the match. The Cuban, though, was able to hold on for a two-point victory. He now faces J'den COX (USA) for the bronze medal. 

4:21: Pedro CEBALLOS FUENTES (VEN), who has placed 10th in the world twice, advanced to the bronze-medal match at 86kg. In the repechage he defeated 2013 world bronze Istvan VEREB (HUN) 7-6. Vereb led 2-0 after the first period, but Ceballos Fuentes battled back in the second period on the strength of two takedowns to take the match. Ceballos Fuentes will now face Olympic champion Sharif SHARIFOV (AZE) for bronze.

4:07: Korey JARVIS (CAN) kicked off the repechage with a 7-0 shutout victory over Diaaelidin ABDELMOTTALEB (EGY) at 125kg. He now faces two-time world bronze medal winner Geno PETRIASHVILI (GEO).
