About Magomedmurad

A former junior world champion, Magomedmurad Gadzhiev (POL) was born in Gurubki in Karabudakhkentsky District of Dagestan, Russia. He competed for his native country till 2012 before switching to Poland in 2014. He became a European champion in 2015 and later competed at the Rio Olympics where he lost to Frank MOLINARO (USA) in the first round. He will be going to his second Olympics after qualifying at the World Qualifiers. He defeated Jordan OLIVER (USA) in the semifinals to earn the ticket at 65kg. He had failed to do so at the European Qualifiers. He won a silver medal at the 2017 Worlds and a bronze in 2019. At the 2020 Individual World Cup, he won the gold at 70kg.
