About Musa

Unbeaten at the international stage since his loss to Elias KUOSMANEN of Finland in 1/16 finals, Evloev is going to Tokyo as a two-time world champion. He won the gold in 2018 and 2019 besides a silver medal in 2017. He also won the 2020 Individual World Cup gold. A brimming rivalry against defending Olympic champion Artur ALENSANYAN of Armenia has seen the two compete against each other four times with Evloev leading 3-1 in the head-to-head record. The Armenian's only win came at the 2017 World Championships in Paris. Evloev avenged that loss in the semifinal of 2018 World Championships in Budapest before the Russian received a walkover in the final at the 2019 edition. Their bout at the 2020 Individual World Cup was comfortably pocketed by the Russian. Hailing from Ingushetia, Russia, Evloev will be seeded number one at the Games. His dominance at the 97kg weight category has earned him the nickname, the 'Russian Rocket.'
