The focus of this course will be on coaches in GR and the development of WW coaches.  To build these skills, Level 1 course on Introduction to Coaching and Safety will be hosted from 24 to 28 May 2023.  This course will provide the coaches with the foundation on how to coach.  During this, they will also have a chance to work with the coach educator, Gary Mayabb on developing their Greco-Roman and women wrestling technical skills.  Mr. Mayabb is a UWW-certified educator.  He has worked as GR Team Manager and Developmental Coach for USA Wrestling.  He is also currently coaching women's wrestling at the University of Iowa.  He is a high-level coach and is a great fit for this course because he can help train coaches in all styles.  In addition to the coaching course, Davor Petanjek (UWW IS Referee and Olympic Referee) will provide a referee module to help develop the referees and coaches in the country.  It is important for the new coaches and referees to establish a collaborative working relationship.  The last 2 days of the camp will include a wrestling competition.  This will allow the participants to practice and see the skills they learned from the course.  Both educators are familiar with the Federation and their development and are the best options for the course.
