About Frank

Frank STABLER (GER) is a three-time Olympian now. Having represented Germany at the London and Rio Games, Stabler will be looking for his first Olympic medal in Tokyo. Born in Boblingen, Germany, Stabler is a three-time world champion and has two world bronze medals. The latest of the two came in Nursultan which qualified him for the Tokyo Games. He lost to Ismael BORRERO (CUB) in the quarterfinals but came back to beat former world champion Han-su RYU (KOR) and Mohamed EL-SAYED (EGY) to win the bronze medal. In London, he lost to Tamas LORINCZ (HUN) and later lost his bronze medal bout to Manuchar TSKHADAIA (GEO). Four years later, he lost to eventual champion Davor STEFANEK (SRB) and suffered a shock defeat to Tomohiro INOUE (JPN). Stabler's mother wanted him to start gymnastics but with classes fully booked, he was taken to the wrestling gym. He was four when he began training wrestling.
