Mukaida won world titles at 55kg in 2016 and 2018, was silver medalist at 53kg in 2017 and 2019....Asian champion in 2017, runner-up in 2019 and 2020 (all at 53kg)...Biggest problem is squadering opportunities. In final at the Paris 2017 world championships, gave up a 4-point move at the buzzer to Vanesa KALADZINSKAYA (BLR) and lost 8-6. At 2019 Asian Championships, gave up takedown in the final seconds to Yongmi PAK (PRK) in 4-3 loss. And at 2020 Asian final, was leading 8-0 when Tatyana AKHMETOVA AMANZHOL (KAZ) caught her for victory by fall...While coming up, world cadet and Youth Olympic champion regarded as "second coming of Saori YOSHIDA" as native of same Mie Prefecture and same weight class of the 3-time Olympic gold medalist...Product of JOC Elite Academy and women's powerhouse Shigakkan University...Is engaged to coach Shota SHIDOCHI...Younger brother Akito is nationally ranked high school wrestler.
