Qian ZHOU (CHN) earned trip to first Olympics by placing 5th at 2019 World Championships. Lost to Hiroe MINAGAWA (JPN) 3-1 in quarterfinals, beat Blessing ONYEBUCHI (NGR) 12-1 in repechage, lost 6-4 to Epp MAEE (EST) in bronze-medal match...In lone international competition since then, placed 2nd at 2020 Matteo Pellicone Tournament, losing 10-0 in final to Erica WIEBE (CAN). Beat Tokyo rivals Elmira SYZDYKOVA (KAZ) and Natalia VOROBEVA (RUS) along the way....Gold medalist at 2018 Asian Championships and Asian Games, beating Minagawa in both finals...Earned China's place at Rio 2016 Olympics by winning silver medal at 2015 World Championships, but was passed over for Fengliu ZHANG (CHN)....At Las Vegas 2015, defeated Maee in 2nd round, lost to Adeline GRAY (USA) in final. Two months later, lost to Maee in final of Golden Grand Prix...Bronze medalist at 2014 World Championships, where she lost to Gray in 1st round, beat Yasemin ADAR (TUR) and Minagawa in repechage, then beat Maee in bronze-medal match...Started sports from age 10 with athletics throwing events, changed to basketball, but was eventually moved to wrestling. Entered the Yueyang City Sports School for wrestling in 2003, moved on to the Hunan provincial team in 2005.
