Bolortuya BAT OCHIR (MGL) qualified for Tokyo Olympics by winning 6-woman weight class at Asian Olympic qualifying tournament. Went 1-1 in group, then defeated Meng Hsuan HSIEH (TPE) by fall in semifinals to earn Tokyo ticket. Awarded victory by injury default in final over Tatyana AKHMETOVA-AMANZHOL (KAZ), who beat her in 10-9 thriller in group stage....Competed at 55kg at 2019 World Championships and won bronze medal. Lost in quarterfinals to Jacarra WINCHESTER (USA), who also qualified for Tokyo at 53kg. Beat Bediha GUN (TUR) 12-9 in bronze-medal match....Bronze medalist at 2019 and 2020 Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix. In 2020, lost to Umi IMAI (JPN) 4-2 in quarterfinals, beat Aleksandra SKIRENKO (RUS) 10-0 for bronze....5th at 2018 World U-23 Championships...Started wrestling after physical education teacher took her to judo and sambo tournament in 2010, and she later won a bronze medal in a district sambo championship. But she switched to wrestling in 2011 because the club was closer...Self-proclaimed fan of Saori YOSHIDA (JPN)...The third of four sisters.
