About Seema

Making her debut at Olympics, Seema qualified for the Tokyo Games at the World Olympic Qualifier in Sofia, Bulgaria. After missing out on winning the quota at the World Championships (7th) and Asian Qualifiers (3rd), she managed to clinch the gold medal in Sofia. Leading into the World Championships in 2019, Seema won two Ranking Series golds to rise to the top rank in 50kg. But she lost to Mariya STADNIK (AZE) in the first round before falling to Ekaterina POLESHCHUK (RUS) in the repechage round. During her junior years, Seema had jumped up to 67kg and competed at Asian and World Championships. She hails from Haryana, India and is employed with the Indian Railways.
