About Cenk

Cenk ILDEM (TUR), the 35-year-old Turkish veteran, will be taking his third trip to the Olympics as he qualified for the Tokyo Games with a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in Nursultan. He lost to Artur ALEKSANYAN (ARM) in Round of 16. He came back in repechage to beat Elias KUOSMANEN (FIN), Mohammad SARAVI (IRI) and Giorgi MELIA (GEO) in the bronze medal bout. He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics after beating Alin ALEXUC-CIURARIU (ROU). He lost to Aleksanyan in the semifinal. The Armenian had defeated Ildem in the repechage round at the 2012 London Olympics as well. Ildem has bronze medals from 2013 and 2014 Worlds and was a junior world champion in 2006. Born in Sisli of Istanbul, Turkey, is coached by his father Huseyin Ildem, who was also part of the Turkey national team. Ildem began wrestling at the age of ten.
