Susaki made the jump from 3-time world cadet champion (2014 to 2016) directly to world senior champion in 2017, defended title in 2018 with technical fall in final over Mariya STADNIK (AZE)...Added back-to-back world junior titles in 2018-19...Has just 3 losses in her life dating back to 2010 as 5th grader, all to compatriot Yuki IRIE (JPN). Last defeat came in playoff for Japan team spot to 2019 world championships...Avenged loss with dramatic victory at 2019 All-Japan Championships to earn ticket to Asian Olympic qualifying tournament, which she won to secure spot at Tokyo 2020...Since the Rio 2016 Olympics, has at least two victories over gold medalist Eri TOSAKA (JPN), silver medalist Stadnik, and bronze medalist Yanan SUN (CHN)...Product of JOC Elite Academy, now student at Waseda University...Older sister Mai was also wrestler, and the two drilled together when she couldn't practice due to the pandemic.
