One of the most talented wrestlers in the world, Anastasia NICHITA (MDA) has already proved her potential by winning the Cadet and Junior World Championships. She also became the first-ever woman wrestler from Moldova to win the Senior European title in 2020. She will now compete at the Tokyo Games and try to become the first medalist from her country. She qualified for the Games with a fifth-place finish at the 2019 World Championships. After losing to world champion Risako KAWAI, she lost the bronze medal bout to Odunayo ADEKUOROYE of Nigeria. She claimed the gold medal at the 2020 Individual World Cup in Belgrade, Serbia.
