Ivan HUKLEK (CRO) won a silver medal at the U23 World Championships in 2017 and at Euros in 2018. He also participated in the 2019 Worlds in a bid to qualify for the Games but lost to Zhan BELENIUK (UKR) in the 1/8 finals. In the repechage round, he was a win away from qualifying but lost to Mikalai STADUB (BLR) and his tournament ended. He failed to achieve the qualification at the European Qualifiers as well. At the World Qualifiers in Sofia, he defeated U23 European champion and 2016 Olympian for Sweden Zakarias BERG (SWE) to claim his spot.
