The oldest Team USA member at 33 years old, Hafizov enters his second Olympic Games. His first appearance came in 2008 when he represented his native country Uzbekistan. Hafizov represented the United States for the first time in 2016 and nearly made the U.S. Olympic team for the Rio Games. Hafizov owns two continental medals, including a silver from the ’21 Pan American Championships and a bronze from the ’20 Pan American Games. He qualified the USA for 60 kg weight class in Tokyo, thanks to a silver-medal performance at the ’20 Pan American Olympic Qualifier. A wrestler for the U.S. Army team, Hafizov earned a bronze medal at the ’19 World Military Games. He is married with two daughters.
