Elizbar ODIKADZE (GEO) will be traveling to his second Olympic Games in Tokyo after he finished fifth in Rio five years ago. At 97kg, he won the qualification by finishing fifth at the 2019 World Championships in Nursultan. Odikadze is a bronze medalist at the 2018 World Championships in Budapest, his only world medal in five attempts. He has lost his bronze medal bout on the other four occasions. A six-time European bronze medalist since 2016, Odikadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia when it was still part of the Soviet Union. At the 2016 Olympics, he lost 9-4 to eventual champion Kyle SNYDER (USA) in the semifinal before dropping the bronze medal bout 10-0 against Albert SARITOV of Romania. Sharif SHARIFOV (AZE) defeated Odikadze in the quarterfinals of 2019 Worlds before Snyder denied him a bronze medal with a 5-0 win.
