United World Wrestling appointed Bruce BAUMGARTNER and Zamel AL SHAHRANI as Vice President till 2028.
CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland (November 5) -- United World Wrestling elected Bruce BAUMGARTNER and Zamel AL SHAHRANI as Vice Presidents till 2028 to fill the vacant spots after non election of Mikhail MAMIASHVILI and Akhroldjan RUZIEV on the UWW Bureau.
The Bureau election was held at the UWW Ordinary Congress on October 23.
The new UWW Bureau held its meeting during the World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan and the following changes were approved:
Technical Commission
- UWW Bureau Member Peter BACSA was appointed as the President
- UWW Daniel IGALI and UWW Athlete Commission President Arsen JULFALAKYAN were appointed Vice Presidents
- Pedro SILVA was added as a member
Media Commission
- Francisco LEE LOPEZ was appointed President, replacing Ruziev.
Marketing Commission
- Yerkin OKASSOV appointed President, replacing Pedro GAMA FILHO
Vladimiar BREGOVIC, newly elected to the Bureau, will be the President of the School & University Sports Commission, replacing Bacsa, who now heads the Technical Commission.
Outgoing Ruziev was appointed as Honorary Vice President by UWW.
